The route of waste

On November 12, 13 and 14, Activity 5 - "The route of waste" was held. The activity was attended by 30 students from the target group 10-15 years from the two partner organizations - Community Center "Nov pat 2011" Dobrich and "Pencho Slaveykov" School Dimitrovgrad. Groups of 15 students from both organizations, together with their leaders /2 from each organization / for three days actively participated in the activity.
The activity took place in Pencho Slaveykov Primary School, Dimitrovgrad, and in the Conference Hall at 3 Himkombinatska Street, Dimitrovgrad. Under the project, personal protective equipment was purchased for each participant - masks, gloves, liquid disinfectant. The group leaders and the members of the project team monitored every day the necessary measures that must be observed by the students - distance, discipline and disinfection. Masks and gloves were distributed, and the use of disinfectants was monitored.
The activity started at 11.00 on November 12, 2020 in the yard of Pencho Slaveykov Primary School. We introduced the participants to the program for the three days and again they were reminded to be careful and responsible for their own and others' health. There was a short talk about the importance of trees, their planting and the necessary care. Then began the action of planting trees - "Plant the future." The places where the young trees will be planted were determined in the school yard. With great enthusiasm the young participants planted their tree. The newly planted trees were watered.
The next day, November 13, 2020, a round table on the benefits of recycling started again at 11.00. The lecturer of the activity was Atanas Stefanov - ecologist, specialist in the field of separate waste collection and recycling. He skillfully guided the thoughts and reflections of the children and formed a fruitful discussion.
On the third day of the activity, workshop Waste art opened its doors. The participants in the project had the task to make an object from waste materials. Materials were provided to support the work of the participants - scissors, colored paper, glitter, tape, glue. Each participant had one set of materials at his disposal to make his product. Mrs. Marusya Veleva was in charge of the activity. It supported the creativity of the students, gave guidelines for implementation, and also gave them useful information about the utilization of waste materials.
The Turkish partner carried out the same activities in Turkey with the participants from its target group. We maintained continuous communication and online involvement during the implementation of the activity in order to maintain the cross-border effect of the project.
